At Fatima High School, senior Logan Kliethermes isn’t just playing the game—he’s leading it. As a point guard on the basketball court and a dual-threat second baseman and pitcher on the baseball diamond, Logan brings a blend of skill, effort, and camaraderie that sets the tone for his teams. For him, it’s not just about the scoreboard but the relationships built along the way. “The feeling of being a team and working together to win is what I love most.”
Logan’s sports journey began early, inspired by his parents, Aaron and Michelle. “My mom and dad have always been my role models. They show up to every single game and have supported me every step of the way.” That encouragement, combined with advice from coaches like Matt Robertson and Coach VanGerpen, has shaped Logan into a leader on and off the field. His parents describe him as having a “fire in the belly” since he was a child, a quality that continues to define his approach to competition.
From his first dribbles and pitches in kindergarten to competitive play starting in fourth grade, Logan has always embraced the grind. Whether it was suiting up for Comets basketball, the Osage Indians, or Elite 1 baseball, he brought a fierce competitive edge and a team-first mentality. “I’m a team player and I always give maximum effort when I’m playing.”
That effort was tested last year when Logan faced one of his toughest challenges: an injury in the state sectional basketball game. The setback required stitches and sidelined him during the baseball season, where he fractured his leg just weeks into recovery. But Logan took the setback in stride. “I just focused on breathing and staying calm,” a strategy that reflects his maturity and determination. His ability to rebound from adversity has inspired his teammates and his younger brothers, Blake and Grant. “Being a role model for them motivates me to keep improving.”
As a player, Logan shines in high-pressure moments. He counts winning districts in basketball as one of his favorite memories. “Leave it all out there,” he recalls as the mantra that carried him and his team to success. That same drive fuels his dedication to improving year-round, with offseason routines that include lifting, shooting, hitting, and pitching.
But Logan isn’t just about individual growth; he’s equally committed to the next generation of Fatima athletes. This year, his goal is to mentor underclassmen, helping them develop their skills and confidence. “I want to be someone they can depend on.” His parents echo this sentiment, sharing their pride in Logan’s maturity. “Logan works hard in everything he does, and his commitment shows through. He’s not only a great athlete but also a fantastic older brother to Blake and Grant.”
Off the court and field, Logan enjoys history class and plans to pursue a college degree in business or finance. Though his future may lead him beyond the tight-knit community of Fatima, the support he’s received there has left a meaningful mark. “Our small community is very supportive of our teams, and that means a lot.”
As Logan eyes the next chapter, his focus remains on closing out his high school career with a bang. Whether it’s sinking a clutch three-pointer or throwing a strike in a critical inning, he’s all in. And with his sights set on both personal growth and team success, Logan Kliethermes continues to pitch, pass, and lead his way toward a season—and a legacy—that Fatima High School won’t soon forget. For Logan, every assist, every pitch, and every dive into the dirt are part of a bigger game plan: to leave the court and field better than he found them. It’s clear this senior knows how to play ball— and he’s determined to cover all the bases before the final buzzer sounds.
