MSMA Patient Advocacy and Education Campaign: “Your Care is at Our Core” Your Missouri State Medical Association encourages you to join our “Your Care is at Our Core” campaign, a statewide patient advocacy and education program to restore and protect the physician-patient relationship. The campaign is in partnership with the American Medical Association and more than half the states in the nation. MSMA believes that care begins not with paperwork, but with trust, compassion, and time spent face-to-face. Missouri’s physicians, in all medical specialties and in all 114 counties, are facing administrative overload, prior authorization delays, and third-party interference. Our physicians are increasingly constrained by decisions made by insurance companies, pharmacy benefit managers, and other bureaucratic interventions. Your Care is at Our Core isn’t just a slogan—it’s a call to action. We are standing with physicians nationwide and the AMA to restore the time, autonomy, and respect that every patient and physician deserves. Join us! “I am committed to breaking down the barriers that currently exist in the patient-physician relationship, restoring mutual trust, and providing excellent, individualized primary healthcare.” -Jennifer Powell, MD, Family Medicine, Osage Beach and Lebanon Donna Corrado, RN, and Joe Corrado, MD, General Surgery, Mexico, plan to wear their YCOC pins while seeing patients to explain why their core is at their patients’ care. The Your Care is At Our Core campaign amplifies physician voices across Missouri, engages patients in advocacy, and calls on lawmakers to prioritize reforms that protect physician-led, patient-centered care.
